Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan suffers bullet injury after shots fired at rally

NEW DELHI: Unidentified assailants on Thursday opened fire on container-mounted-truck carrying former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in Wazirabad. Imran Khan sustained bullet injuries on his leg during the attack, but he is safe, Geo TV reported.
The incident took place during an anti-government protest march led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief in Islamabad to demand snap elections.
“Imran Khan is injured, may Allah protect him, the whole nation should pray for the life of Imran Khan,” PTI’s Farrukh Habib said on Twitter.
Another PTI leader Azhar Mashwani has said that the culprit has been arrested.
“Imran Khan sahb is safe. According to ground teams culprit is arrested. Incident happened near Allah hoo chowk Wazirabad,” Mashwani said on Twitter.
DawnNewsTV has reported that PTI’s Senator and Imran Khan’s close aide Faisal Javed has also sustained injuries during the firing.
